Prawn Day 2018 Terms and Conditions

Conditions of Purchase and Entry

  • The promoter of BYCC Prawn Day 2018 (Prawn Day) is Beenleigh Yatala Chamber of Commerce (ABN 83 392 949 617) (BYCC).
  • Prawn Day is held at Gold Coast Marine Aquaculture, 148 Marks Road, Woongoolba, Qld, 4207 (Venue).
  • You acknowledge that the purchase of tickets is final and that the ticket value is non-refundable in the event that you can no longer attend.
  • You acknowledge that you participate in Prawn Day and enter the Venue at your own risk.
  • During Prawn Day, patrons must remain within the designated Venue area and follow official directions by Venue staff, BYCC Board members and volunteers and police/security.
  • BYCC reserves the right to refuse admission or to eject a ticket holder for behaviour likely to cause damage, injury, nuisance or annoyance or for failure to comply with reasonable requests. Intoxication, aggressive or anti-social behaviour is unacceptable and will result in ejection from the Venue. Those ejected from the Venue will not be re-admitted to Prawn Day and tickets will not be refunded.
  • Parking is available at the Venue. You acknowledge that you will follow the direction of the parking volunteers.  Please note parking is solely at the owner’s risk.
  • All patrons must adhere to local licensing laws. Intoxicated or disorderly patrons will be evicted from the venue. BYCC also reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone who is intoxicated or appears to be under the influence of any illegal substance.
  • Trespassers and anyone assisting trespassers will be evicted from the Venue.
  • Persons under 18 are not permitted to attend.
  • Please note: there is limited shade or protection from sun or rain.
  • At the time of booking your tickets, you consent to these Conditions of Entry AND any other terms and conditions of purchase.
  • You may be refused entry if your ticket cannot be authenticated.  Defaced tickets will not be accepted. Your ticket is your responsibility. 
  • BYCC does not issue an exchange or refund for a lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed ticket.   A change in personal circumstances does not entitle a ticket holder to return or exchange a ticket.
  • Subject to any statutory rights of refund (including, without limitation, the provisions of the Australian Consumer Law), if an event takes place then generally there is no right to a refund or exchange, including where a ticket holder cannot attend because of adverse weather conditions or any other personal emergency.
  • Wristbands will be provided at Prawn Day for silver service ticket holders. Wristbands which are removed or tampered with will be rendered invalid and will not be replaced. Lost or missing wristbands will not be replaced.
  • It is a condition of entry to Prawn Day that a search of person or possessions may be required at the time of entry to the Venue. You may be requested to submit yourself and your belongings to a search on entry to Prawn Day. By purchasing a ticket or using a ticket to gain entry into Prawn Day, you consent to such searches and waive any related claims that may arise (to the extent permissible by law). If you withdraw your consent to such searches, you may be denied entry to Prawn Day without refund or other compensation.
  • Certain items are prohibited from being brought into the Venue, including without limitation, alcohol, drugs, controlled substances, professional cameras, recording devices, bundles and containers. Such items may be confiscated and neither BYCC, nor the Venue accept any responsibility for confiscated items.
  • No BYO alcohol. Alcohol is available at Prawn Day. Patrons found to have brought alcohol into the Venue will be evicted from the Venue. Patrons who wish to consume alcohol must have photo ID. It is an offence to supply minors with alcohol and anyone found supplying minors with alcohol will be evicted from the Venue.
  • No BYO soft drinks or any other non-alcoholic beverages other than sealed plastic bottled water of any size.  Drinks required for dietary or health purposes are allowed in sealed containers with written consent from a health professional.
  • No glass - this includes wine glasses, jars, or any other containers or items made of glass. Although glasses, bottles of wine and beer will be supplied inside the Venue you may not bring any glass object into the Venue.
  • No animals (except guide dogs) are permitted in the Venue.
  • Point and shoot cameras are permitted but professional-standard cameras and video cameras are not. Unauthorized photography may result in images being deleted by security staff.  Media and professional photographers must arrange permission to cover the event prior to any attendance.
  • Smoking is ONLY permitted in marked designated smoking areas. Smoking is NOT permitted in any eating areas.
  • By entering Prawn Day, you consent to being filmed and photographed during the event. Footage or images taken on the day may be reproduced, published and utilised by the BYCC without restriction including but not limited to marketing and promotional use and in all media.
  • Prawn Day will only be abandoned if the BYCC deems the conditions dangerous. BYCC reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule Prawn Day. If Prawn Day is cancelled or re-scheduled, BYCC will use best endeavours to notify ticket holders via its website and social media. In the case of re-scheduled Prawn Day, ticket holders unable to attend the re-scheduled Prawn Day must apply for a refund within five working days of the re-scheduled Prawn Day. Ticket holders of free or complimentary tickets will not be entitled to a refund for a cancelled or re-scheduled Prawn Day.
  • Warning: The Venue is an outdoor venue and whilst all care has been taken to make the Venue safe, the Venue may contain dangerous and uneven surfaces, equipment and machinery and is surrounded by water. Patrons should exercise all care and caution when entering or on the Venue premises. The BYCC and Venue accept no responsibility for any personal property.
  • In the event of an emergency situation or evacuation, you must follow all official directions by Venue staff & security.
  • To the extent permitted by law, BYCC and the Venue disclaims all liability for any loss, damages or injuries caused at Prawn Day. All reasonable measures are taken by BYCC and the Venue to protect patrons however, injury and/or loss and/or damage can occur. Stay alert at all times before, during and after Prawn Day.  If injured or distressed, immediately ask for assistance or contact an emergency service. By purchasing a ticket, you acknowledge and accept these terms and conditions in your personal capacity and on behalf of any accompanying patrons. You assume all risks which are incidental to Prawn Day, whether before, during or after the event.
